Hey Curvies!!!
I really did not give you all a weight loss surgery update at 1 year, because I was waiting to announce my pregnancy. I know for a fact my bypass surgery and adapting a ketogenic lifestyle contibuted to my pregancy. Mainly, because when we went to the doctor to confirm the pregnancy she mentioned that my pre-surgery body was showing signs of insulin resistance.
This baby is truly a blessing, because I was ready to declare the “cool aunt” title. But then it happened, read all about that (here). Prior to finding out I was pregnant I was down 112 lbs. Now honestly I did not have the energy to work out during my first trimester. At times I felt lazy and other times I had to remind myself that an entire human was growing in my body. Now that my energy has returned I have been walking and even returned to the gym today. I feel like myself again.
My OB took me off of my water pills because they were not safe for the baby and you all know I am retaining fluid like no one’s business. Working out is helping me rid my body of the excess fluid but it is still a challenge. But somehow I am still losing weight. Now my workouts are completely different from my pre-workouts. I can no longer do a lot of the high intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts I was doing before, but modifying them helps me get the most out of my workout.
This is one of the most important journey’s of my life and my quest for a healthier lifestyle is still my goal. I do not fight my cravings, however my cravings and my new stomach really do not get along. If I have a craving I literally get to enjoy maybe 3 bits before I am full that is both a relief and irritating at the same time. I do not have the luxury of over endulding and it is kind of cool. I was worried barely being a year out but it is comforting knowing my restriction is better than ever.
Stay tuned as I continue to take you all on this journey!
