I reached out to Barkwood initially because one of their dresses would have been a dream for my birthday shoot, it will be my snapback goal dress, but I ended up getting pregnant. The goal was to exchange the dress but then I was invited to be on a panel at the TCFStyleExpo and Charniece, the woman behind Barkwood, was going to be a vendor and more magic happended. After talking months and months somehow we both agreed that Barkwood would make my panel dress. It happended organically and Charniece was extremely patient with me during this process. I sent over my updated measurements and Charniece assured me she would get it done.
Honestly, I have never left anything up to chance in my life but constantly communicating with Charniece gave me comfort. I remember telling her I wanted a floor length dress and she came back with the color ivory. Before heading out to Atlanta I only knew my dress was ivory and floor length. I decided to go with rose gold earrings, rose gold bangles and rose gold block heel sandals. After getting coordinated I met Charniece face-to-face the evening before my panel. Curvies, after trying on my dress I wanted to cry so bad because it was everything I could have hoped for and more. Seeing this dress on my body made me feel amazing, feminine, and ready to hit my panel. Yes a dress made me feel this way.
My Barkwood dress was made out of a heavy knit material that hugged my curves to perfection. I honestly felt like this dress was made for me, made for my curves, and definitely made for my five month pregnant body.
