Hey Curvies!!!
Millennial workwear is an ongoing series that features workwear options for millennials that are entering corporate America. In the early stages of my career I was under the impression that black was the only color that fit my company’s dress code. I was so wrong. What is important is the fit. Let’s get into this Springtime goodness!
Spring is one of my favorite seasons. I love playing with prints and wearing lighter colors. Most times I do not think twice about my work outfits simply because my blog wardrobe is a happy extension. I will admit that I am a mostly dress girl at work so when I saw this striped skirt (similar skirts) I knew it would a little different but super cute. As I have always said, it is about the fit of the garment not you shape.
Styling this striped skirt (similar skirts) I almost reverted back to my earlier days where I would wear a long cardigan or vest to cover my curves. I then decided to not cover but focus on the fit. This striped skirt (similar skirts) is form fitting but not tight. I then went with a shirt that would easily tuck without leaving extra lines. This pink shirt is light and super girly. Next was adding accessories and my red flower earrings (similar) are always a nice icebreaker at work. Lastly, was my red block heels that are super comfortable.
Style Notes: I am wearing a size 16 in my striped skirt (similar skirts) and the fit is true to size. In my pink shirt I chose to size up to a 16 and I am glad I did, it tucked seamlessly. My red block heels are also true to size in a 10 and are super comfortable.
