I am so excited to be bringing you all a new series, “Farewell Summer.” I completely understand that the month of September signifies the start of Fall, but here in the South we’re still experiencing Summer-like weather. This series will focus on some of my favorite Summer trends like maxi dresses and coordinating sets. While also creating Fall looks from Summer items.
Maxi dresses are a Summer stable for me. A good maxi dress makes you look put together in the blink of an eye. I love that a maxi dress can either be sexy, casual, or both. Can we get into this sexy dress (printed)!? I remember seeing it online and immediately knowing it was meant for me. The buttons definitely gave me a sexy vibe I have never gotten before. The tie top was icing on the cake.
Styling a light blue maxi dress (printed) was interesting to say the least. I wanted to ton down the color by adding a darker shoe with print. Mission accomplished! My printed platform sandals (tan) are a dream to walk in and the colors are beautifully mixed. I went with light blue earrings and a hot pink crossbody. How would you have styled this maxi dress?
Style Notes: I was nervous about the buttons and the lack of stretch in this dress (printed). I sized up to a 2x which was perfect for my hips, but the top became too big. My printed platforms (tan) are true to size in a 10.
