Hey Curvies!!!
Mom-vember will be a yearly at minimum series moving forward. It is so easy to get caught up thinking in “every mom already knows this” when honestly we do not know everything. And that is okay. I am not a cookie cutter mom. Things that may work for myself and my son may not work for you, but at best we will get to learn from each other during this series. I plan to share our morning routine and of course two styled shoots. Lastly, let’s get into our eczema relief regimen that works year round.
Eczema or atopic dermatitis usually develops in early childhood and is more common in people who have a family history of the condition. The main symptom is a rash that typically appears on the arms and behind the knees, but can also appear anywhere. Peanut was diagnosed with eczema before he was six months. I remember feeling like I had did something wrong but determined for my son to have relief. He would breakout in fire red rashes when his skin was dry and when it was really bad there would be little bumps on his face.

Our eczema regimen is perfect for year round relief.
- First we start with clean skin. I it very important for anyone suffering from eczema to bathe regularly, with soap and water. We use Dr. Bronner’s Baby Unscented Pure‑Castile Liquid Soap. This soap is perfect for sensitive skin but be sure not to get the soap in baby’s eyes. It will sting.
- At night we opt for Peanut’s dad eczema moisturizer. It absolutely amazing. It is mixed with natural butters and essential oils that offer immediate relief. This moisturizer is perfect for year round relief and locks in moisture right after a good bath.
- In the morning I typically use Cetaphil Unscented Restoraderm Skin Restoring Body Moisturizer. I rubs this lotion on Peanut’s body every morning adding an extra layer of moisture.
- Lastly, I add a thin layer of cocoa butter Vaseline. I will be 100% honest black momma’s always add Vaseline to their babies while adding relief to dry skin.
