• Millennial Workwear: Back to the Basics

    Hey Curvies!!!

Millennial workwear is an ongoing series that features workwear options for millennials that are entering corporate America. In the early stages of my career I was under the impression that black was the only color that fit my company’s dress code. I was so wrong. What is important is the fit. Let’s get into this super look combing interchangeable basics!

I love getting dressed for work and I love not having to think too hard when putting together pieces. Basic pieces will always take the lead in my wardrobe, because they can easily be interchangeable and sometimes season-less. I am crazy about these slacks! I have never found a pair of skinny leg work slacks that are so beautifully constructed yet tastefully fitted. Tastefully is the buzz word because it is easy to find tight clothes but these slacks feel double layered with stomach control. These are my new favorite work slacks!

Can we talk about the joys of styling basics?! I love it. I literally did not have to think too hard when it came to these work slacks. I was excited to pair a double layer cami. Sometimes I have issues with my camis being too thin and see-through but not this one! I loved the adjustable straps. I then wanted to find the perfect blazer and it was hanging in my closet! This cropped blazer is so bomb, the tortoiseshell buttons prompted me to add my tortoiseshell handbag (similar) and my tortoiseshell block heels (similar). How do you like this look?

Style Notes: My amazingly fitted to perfection slacks are a curvy size 18. These are apart of their new line that features a curvy fit. These slacks fit just like a plus size 18, in my opinion. My cami is a size XL is a perfect fit. My cropped blazer is true to size in an XL. My tortoiseshell block heels (similar) are also true to size in a 10.
